Assignment: Tussock Buster/ March 27-39, 2020

Location: 39.4710° S, 175.6817° E (Waiouru Army Base)

You Mission: Should you choose to accept it, is to infiltrate the New Zealand Army Land in late March with your MI6 pit crew, pitch a tent, camp out, meet people, make friends, do wheelies, rail ruts, and be an all-round good dude or dudette for two and a half days, utilising some of the best riding land you have ever seen in your life.

After the 2019 event was sadly cancelled due to the tragedy in Christchurch had on the NZ Defense Force, 2020 is going to be a great come back story for the Off Limits crew.

This is probably the only time when no means yes…

Tussock Buster 2019

HAVE you been to a Tussock Buster? Yes! Nice work… No? Bad you! The event is a 2.5-day long trail riding extravaganza. Think camping facilities, eating facilities, restroom facilities, literally hundreds of acres of terrain. Eight different tracks and nearly 300 km of trails make the event quite unique. So if you haven’t been to one - you should before you hang up your boots.

Rescue vehicles are pretty fancy down those ways.

If you don’t believe us - believe these riders.

More happy campers.

The Camping Facility on the Friday and Saturday nights is provided on the rugby and sports ground. And that is Free Of Charge! Getting a little deeper, this facility includes hot showers, portaloos, a rugby club bar and flat screen TV. Hot meals, plus a variety of yummy snacks are available from the Waiouru community shop on site. There's also motorcycle service support facilities and the opportunity to purchase riding equipment from a range of vendors on site. One important aspect is Fire Extinguishers - its compulsory for anyone over 12 years of age so don’t forget to bring one. Or buy one on site.
