UPDATE: HAMISH MACDONALD - WORLD ENDURO GP OPENERS

β€œIt's been exciting to see where I fit in amongst the big boys in the GP Class, a lot to learn and fine tune, but I'm super keen to keep on improving and challenging myself.”

Hey guys. Been a bit slack on the news reporting front but I've been super busy with the first two World Championship races in Portugal and Italy. It's been exciting to see where I fit in amongst the big boys in the GP Class; a lot to learn and fine tune, but I'm super keen to keep on improving and challenging myself.

Portugal was a difficult race for me, more suited to motocross riders with fast tests. Day one was a struggle but Day two I felt I rode my best in these conditions. There is so much more to it than just twisting the throttle. It's fine tuning the body, taking onboard the right food and trying to be consistently in the top five.

The following weekend was Edolo, Italy. This was where I won my first Youth GP on the Sherco 125 in 2018. I knew it would be a good ride in wet conditions and was hoping the rain would come. I started out with good times but once again struggling to find form in the Cross Test. Excited that I was sitting on third overall for most of the day, but dropped back to sixth overall and fourth in class. A little glimmer of what is possible.

Day two, with a very physical extreme test, following straight into the Cross test, my shoulders were screaming. Originally disappointed with finishing this day seventh overall and fourth in class ,but on reflection when I look back on my times we are all so close - fighting for the seconds and I take that with me into the next rounds.

This past week I have been in Sweden training with some of the English lads. It's good to be out of Italy exploring different riding and having some fun. Earlier this week I flew into Estonia for Round 3 in Serremma, walking tracks and prepping for a big weekend. You can be guaranteed that I will be giving it my all.

Thank you Fab, Thomas, all the Sherco Team, my sponsors and supporters.

See you on the track - Hammymac #76
