FIRST LOOK: CARDO INTERCOM SYSTEMS

Darbi are the new NZ distributors for Cardo intercom systems as of right now. An industry leader in these types of bike intercoms, Cardo have been pioneering the technology specific to motorbike communications. Lets take a look.

Some of the initial highlights for us when reading about the Cardo Communicatins Systems.

  • Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) which allows up 15 riders to talk together and paired units can leave and return at any time without having to be re-paired

  • Natural voice control so you can issue voice commands to the unit to perform functions like volume up/down, turn the unit off/on, change track or station etc, you never have to take your hands off the bars.

  • JBL EQ and speakers for a much better quality of sound, no more tinny music and there’s decent base!

  • And the big one- IP67 certified waterproof. Not water resistant or shower proof but full on waterproof

That last feature really opens up massive possibility’s off road. Imaging being able to laugh at your mate when you fill him in on a trail or he falls into a creek. The training/instruction possibilities are exciting too and if it’s paired to your phone you can even call for assistance if you manage to injure yourself. Your mates can find you without riding backwards down the trail too. That’s all good news.

Cardo globally are starting to market the units for off-road, already having the likes of Graham Jarvis and also now Chris Birch to be their ambassadors. They are clearly making a big play at dirt and adventure bikes.

We have a set on the way to test out which we are really looking forward to. But untill then, here is the full run down hot off the press.

Darbi Accessories are the new distributors of Cardo Systems for New Zealand

“Cardo Systems has been at the forefront of motorcycle communication for over 15 years, pioneering new innovations and changing the way riders think about how they communicate while on two wheels. From the first Bluetooth unit back in 2004, the global leader of wireless communication systems has worked to improve the quality, functionality, and safety – allowing riders to focus on their ride, while it focusses on the technology.

Constantly looking to improve the user experience, Cardo introduced Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) on its PACKTALK range for improved and enhanced intercom connection functionality and Natural Voice Operation that integrates with rider’s phones and unlocking the potential for hands-free navigation and communication. They also boast a partnership with JBL, a leading audio brand from HARMAN, allowing riders to have the ‘Ultimate Sound Experience’.

These features help to make the waterproof Cardo System units, a popular choice with riders and amongst rider training institutions, a trait that has carried through even to Supercross where the intercoms are used by teams to pass information to their riders in real time.

Whether you’re out carving canyons with your friends, passing the time chatting with your pillion, or battling through the dirt, Cardo Systems has the solution.
